Comfy stay during tough times
We arrived pretty late after a long day, and our check-in was a bit weird. Ended up with a twin instead of a double. After a few talks, we got upgraded to a nice double that had a fab mattress! Breakfast was good, but the check-in could've gone smoother. At least the staff was friendly, which helped a lot.

walkable access to parks and local attractions
I loved how close this place was to St Wystan's Church, making it a wonderful spot for a charming morning stroll, and the short walk to Burton Albion Football Club was a perfect way to soak in some local culture during our weekend stay. The staff were all friendly and professional that made our visit memorable.

Charming historic architecture, unique stained glass features, pleasant garden views
The hotel needs a serious refresh, with tired and dated decor throughout!!! Not to mention the inconsistent cleanliness and inconvenient room arrangements that hinder the experience. Bar prices are absurdly high too!!!

The historic architecture of the manor house totally captivated me! Beautiful stained glass windows catch the light in the most magical way. Plus, the 8-acre gardens were perfect for leisurely strolls, making my stay unbelievably refreshing!

Had an awesome time with friends here. The outdoor space is fantastic for group activities, and the dining experience was great during our stay. The staff were really friendly and made sure breakfast had plenty of options. It's a solid choice for a getaway with mates.
Finding our room was a bit tricky because of the confusing numbering, which could be improved.

Charming atmosphere with great service
I recently enjoyed a lovely stay in a Classic Double Room, where the historic charm of the hotel truly stood out along with the friendly and attentive staff. The breakfast was delightful, featuring a fantastic selection of options, and the outdoor space offered a relaxing retreat. the room could use some modernization to match the quality of service provided.

Navigating to Room 121 proved challenging due to poor signage, and the room itself, used as a bridal dressing area, lacked adequate seating. Although the gardens could use professional attention, the staff were remarkably helpful, which made the experience more enjoyable. Dining options, especially the salads, were a highlight.
